We offer members support through: Newsletter: Telephone helpline: E-mail chat group: Library: Coffee mornings We are also involved in publicising ME/CFS, in campaigning for better local and domiciliary services and in supporting biomedical research into ME. ME (Myalgic Encephalopathy) or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) can affect anyone, at any age, and from any ethnic group. 250,000 people, 25% children, are estimated to have ME in the UK. 25% are so severely affected they are housebound or bedbound. 77% of adults have lost their job. Common symptoms include severe exhaustion, unrefreshing sleep, poor concentration, headache, muscle pain and digestive problems. Some people with ME still face ignorance and prejudice. There is no cure and more biomedical research is needed to find effective treatments. To join our group please either e-mail us on call on 07984 860 309 (answer phone) and we will return your call or check our website http://www.richmondandkingstonmegroup.org.uk |
